The Rotary Club of San Marcos, a community service leader, is privileged to host its 5^th annual wine tasting, “A Toast to Education,” Saturday April 24, 2010. The event will be held at the Burdick Estate Grounds in San Marcos’ Historical District from 6 to 9 p.m. and will include a raffle and silent auction. Albanie & Her Fellas, a live jazz band, will perform to accompany the casual vineyard atmosphere.  Wine and food for the evening have been donated by the Mandola Estate Winery, Winery on the Gruene, Carinos Italian Restaurant, Delicious Decisions Catering and Club Members.

“We invite members of the San Marcos area community to come and enjoy a night of fun and relaxation, while benefiting the children in our community,” said Rotary Club of San Marcos President Sammy Falletta. 

All proceeds from the event will go to the Rotary Club’s scholarship fund, which will award scholarships to local school seniors who will be attending college or vocational school, students with dyslexia, the First Knight/EarlyAct program and the Rotary Youth Exchange program. The annual event has grown over the years, and with nearly 300 guests in attendance last year, the Rotary Club of San Marcos expects the same, or more, to attend this year, including community leaders and officials from surrounding cities and counties.
